How to achieve your goals and new year resolutions.
The topic of New Year resolutions comes up every year at this time, as we look back on the year that has passed and consider how we may make the new year better. If we look far enough back in this past year, at how we managed ourselves and our relationships, we will recall one year ago today, when we probably set some type of goal or hoped for some change for the year.
For some, it may have been to lose weight, exercise more or quit a bad habit. For others, it may have been to heal, physically, emotionally or spiritually. Some of us pledged to give more to charity or love others more without judgment. Many of us needed to achieve financial goals, to keep from losing a home after a layoff or to be able to keep from having to lay off friends who have families and helped to grow our businesses, when the economy was booming. Unfortunately, a majority of people fail to achieve any of their New Year resolutions.
It is easy to say, ‘you and your circumstances are a direct result of your habits and your beliefs.’ That is true to a large degree, however, human suffering is somewhat contagious and can have an effect on bystanders. We are seeing this today, as charitable organizations are running out of money and contributors. Businesses everywhere are having to shrink their staff and take drastic cuts in their operational spending. Unemployment is on the rise everywhere. Governments have turned to printing money and make believe hope, to keep their constituents from total rebellion. The news is depressing.
How can you and I keep a positive attitude and achieve our new year resolutions and personal goals, while at the same time, overcoming the negativity and hopelessness that is in the news every day? Unfortunately, the answer is not as easy as enjoying cake. On the other hand, it is not a sign that we should throw up our hands in defeat, thinking that our dreams or goals are not achievable, or that we should ‘wait and see’ what happens before we take positive action in our own lives.
Our hopes and dreams are not only achievable, we owe it to our country and fellow citizens to spread some hope around as we take action to improve our own circumstances and achieve our own goals and resolutions. The good news is, hope and enthusiasm are much more contagious than a defeat mentality. We need a solution plan that excites and motivates us to share the excitement with others, so that everyone can see the hope and want to make an effort to follow on the road to success.
The problem is, it is sometimes difficult to see the silver lining in the clouds, or believe that we all have special gifts and talents that make us unique and desirable to others. Some of us believe the negative programming that others have effectively brainwashed us with, making us believe we are less deserving of wealth or fame or physical health, than Hollywood fake artists or athletic heroes who continue to disappoint us.
One key to achieve your New Years Resolution, or any goal for that matter, is to ‘see’ and ‘feel’ the end result you want. You must know what you want in detail, and feel the positive emotion of achieving that specified goal, and remain focused on that end result. If you dwell on the day to day activities necessary to accomplish your resolution, you are doomed to failure. In every action you take to achieve your resolution or goal, you must remain focused on the end result or reward. That is why it is so important to write down specifically what you hope to achieve and how you will enjoy it, and refer to it often. The reward is the most important thing and you deserve your share of it.
On that note, I challenge you, to at least make a small effort to write down what you would like to see happen in your life this year, today, and how you will enjoy your success. While you are at it, write down what you would be willing to share or do for others, as you are achieving or receiving what you want. As you do this, realize, a true law of nature provides a specific result from a specific action. A result of giving is receiving. It is an undeniable law of nature. In the same way, the act of planning, giving or sharing yourself or rewards of effort in some way, in advance of receiving, has the power to reap even more reward than you would even ask for yourself.
An example of this happens every time an entrepreneur takes action to share an idea or business plan with a potential partner in which there is a win, win opportunity and the entrepreneur gets million dollar funding and assistance to accomplish what he never could have on his own. It was the act of planning an act of sharing that made it possible.
If you are looking for success, share it with someone else, even before you see it. Success, will be multiplied.
If you happen to be struggling at this time, what I am saying may seem like some Hopey Changey stuff that sounds like political promises or a religious sermon or sales pitch for something. I want to show you in scientific reality, examples from a century of successful results, from people using these basic natural principles, that anyone, regardless of circumstances, can achieve their physical, financial, mental, spiritual or emotional rewards.
In my youth, I thought writing down specific goals or new year resolutions was a silly waste of time, however, I have learned that taking a specific action, including writing something down, has a powerful energy of it’s own, in creating progressive momentum towards the desired result. It may be something as simple as signaling the subconscious mind that it is important, to create new habits that make your goal easier to achieve. Whatever the reason, successful people everywhere swear by the simple technique of taking a few minutes to visualize what you want and write it down specifically, to refer to often, as the most important first step in achieving your new year resolution or anything you want in life.
Another helpful technique or strategy to achieve your goal, is to spend a few minutes thinking or meditating about what it will be like achieving your goal or resolution right before you go to sleep every night and first thing in the morning, until you achieve the desired result. Adding meditation or self hypnotism techniques to influence subconscious mind control, can be a powerful assistant to remove any mental obstacles and make the daily tasks more effortless.
I want to share the hope that I feel and the knowledge and dreams that I have with anyone who wants to share theirs with me or others. That is why I am creating a free for all forum to share knowledge and hope with our friends and neighbors, of personal development success principles and financial success principles, that can turn 2010 into the greatest year of growth in history.
We would love to here of your successes, and any resources or support systems that helped you, or what setbacks you have experienced, or questions you may have in our forum at PowerOfMindControl.com/forum.
